Greetings, Captains and Explorers!
It has been an absolute whirlwind of momentum here at Strange Owl Games HQ this past month. Between the completion of breathtaking new artwork, putting the final narrative polish on our adventure modules, and launching an incredible new campaign on BackerKit, our boilers are burning at absolute max capacity!
We have some massive news regarding Space 1889: After, plus a look at what else is shaking up the tabletop world.
🛠️ Space 1889: After — Final Layout is Underway!
We are officially crossing a huge milestone: final layout for the Space 1889: After core book and all its supplementals is actively in progress!
This is the home stretch. Once layout wraps up, two massive dominoes are going to fall:
-
Pledge Lock & Digital PDF Delivery! We will lock all pledges to secure our final production numbers, and shortly after, digital PDFs will be delivered directly into your hands! You’ll finally get to dive headfirst into the rulebooks and explore the post-separation era.
-
Off to Manufacturing! The files will be sent straight to our press facility to begin the physical printing process for the books, maps, and accessories!
THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO ADJUST YOUR PLEDGE! If you’ve been on the fence about adding an extra physical item, grabbing that extra map book, or completing your 3-Piece Interlocking Pin Set — NOW IS THE TIME. Once pledges lock, counts are finalized for the printers!
Now on to news from beyond the Ether.
Dragon Kings is LIVE on BackerKit!
While the Space 1889: After machinery hums along smoothly, we’ve also officially launched our next grand endeavor: Dragon Kings on BackerKit!
We are beyond thrilled to have reunited many of the brilliant original minds and visionary creators who built this world to bring you this revamped and updated version. Come take a look and join us on this new journey!
Spotlight: Palladium’s Rifts® Glitter Boy Codex!
Finally, we want to give a huge shoutout to our great friends over at Palladium Books! They have a legendary project on the horizon that you won't want to miss: The Rifts® Glitter Boy Codex, launching October 20th!
Palladium’s new Rifts sourcebook has a lot of fun secrets, including new weapons, suits, lore and adventures. Head over to their page, hit that notify button, and show them some love when they go live!
Thank you all so much for your incredible patience, enthusiasm, and support as we push Space 1889: After across the layout finish line. The wait is almost over!
Until next time, keep your compasses calibrated and your steam pressure high!

The Dice Are Unlocked! 🎲

Another stretch goal has fallen!
Thanks to your incredible support, we've officially unlocked the
Space 1889: After Custom Dice Set. Created in partnership with
FanRoll, these dice will bring a touch of Victorian science fiction to every roll.
Thank you to everyone who has backed!
Our next stretch goal will unlock at 55K, where we'll add even more maps to the map book!
The Campaign Ends Friday!
There's still time to come aboard, but not much.
Updated UK & EU Shipping Estimates
We also have some good news for our backers in the UK and EU!
We've been working with new fulfillment partners to improve shipping costs, and we're happy to share an updated estimate.
Current estimate for shipping the books to UK and EU backers: approximately $25 USD per pledge.
As with all crowdfunding projects, final shipping costs will be determined closer to fulfillment, when we have confirmed production weights, dimensions, and carrier rates. While these figures are estimates and may change, we're pleased to be able to provide a much clearer expectation before the campaign concludes.
We'll continue to keep everyone updated as we move toward production and fulfillment.
Thank you again for helping make Space 1889: After a reality. We're looking forward to an exciting final few days, and we can't wait to see how far we can go together before the campaign ends on Friday!
See you in the Great Dark!
